Weekend Recap: Euless

Dec 15, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – You could say that this past weekend was a successful one for the Texas Jr. Brahmas.

FRIDAY: It took nearly half the game to get the scoring going but once Bryan Whelan struck gold it was all downhill from there for Euless.  Over the next 3:23 Chase Deacon, Zack Andersen and Whelan (again) would all notch goals, extending the lead to 4-0 before the conclusion of the second period.

In the third Jacob Elrod recorded two helpers, the first coming on Jason Moore’s first goal as a Brahma.  Later, Elrod dished to Oliver Hay who wrapped up the scoring at 6-0.

In net Tyler Myers was a perfect 14/14 en route to his third shutout of the season.

SATURDAY: There was no sign of slowing down as the Brahmas pummeled Euless with a season-high 12-goal performance.

Nine different goal scorers beat the combination of Thomas Bailey and Everett Yasinski six times each, beginning with Whelan again.  Whelan scored twice on the evening and so did Oliver Hay and Zack Andersen.

Victor Ekk led the team with five points thanks to four assists.  On the back end, Niklas McCallum finished a team-high +6.

Tyler Myers stopped 16 of 17 to earn his ninth win of the season.

NOW: The team currently sits in first place in the south division with an overall record of 19-3-2.  Up next is a trip to the NA3HL Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota to face three new opponents on display in the presents of a plethora of fans and scouts.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a preview of the trip!
