Texas’ Whelan deadly on offense in 6-0 win against Euless

Behind a great game by Bryan Whelan, who had two goals, Texas defeated Euless, 6-0.

Whelan scored at 8:08 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Texas and again while on the power play 11:31 into the second to make the score 4-0 Texas.

Texas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Euless was unable to stop Texas from sending pucks towards the net, and Texas eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Texas also got points from Chase Deacon, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Zack Andersen, who also registered one goal and one assist. Texas also had goals scored by Oliver Hay and Jason Moore, who each put in one. In addition, Texas received assists from Sean McAndrews, Victor Ekk, Kyle Galloway, George Hansen, and Mykyta Sheptytsky, who contributed one each and Jacob Elrod and Ryan Dunner, who each chipped in two.

Euless\’ offense operated below its season average. Euless averages 2.4 goals per game. Texas\’ defense shut down Euless\’ forwards for much of the game, and Euless got off only 14 shots during the contest.

Tyler Myers rejected 14 shots on goal for Texas. Texas totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major and went 1-for-3 on the power play. For Texas, Hunter Frado was ejected from the game. Thomas Bailey recorded 32 saves for Euless. Euless incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
