Texas’ Nitta deadly on offense in 3-1 win against Dallas

Nick Nitta was all over the ice for the Texas Jr. Brahmas, as he tallied two goals in Texas\’ 3-1 win over the Dallas Jr. Stars.

Nitta found the back of the net on the power play 15:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas and again while 19:06 into the third to make the score 3-1 Texas.

The Jr. Brahmas put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Dallas to score on any of its three power plays. Texas forced the Jr. Stars goalie Chris Mallon to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots. The Jr. Brahmas\’ defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Texas also got a goal from Anthony Koslow as well. More assists for Texas came via Kurt Thiele, who had one, Devin Pierce, who had two, and Mykyta Sheptytsky, who had three.

Dallas could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.

The Jr. Stars were led by Aaron Torres, who scored the team\’s only goal. Torres scored 17:05 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Valentin provided the assist.

Texas\’ Quinton Reynolds stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. The Jr. Brahmas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Mallon rejected 45 shots on goal for Dallas.
