Texas holds on for 4-2 win against Sugar Land

Texas survived a determined comeback attempt by Sugar Land on the way to a 4-2 win.

A goal by Ryan Dunner put Texas up 4-1 in the third period, but Sugar Land pulled to within two on Matt DeNure\’s tally 11:46 into the third period.

Kyle Galloway had one goal and two assists to lead Texas. Galloway scored 11:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Bryan Whelan picked up the assist.

Texas additionally got points from Whelan, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Texas also got a goal from Oliver Hay as well. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were George Hansen, who had one and Brock Brown and Mykyta Sheptytsky, who each chipped in two.

Zac McKenna also scored for Sugar Land. In addition, Sugar Land received assists from RC Randall, Keith Allen, Chris Conlin, and Jonathan Adnell, who contributed one each.

Brandon Perrone made 19 saves for Texas on 21 shots. Texas incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Kevin Mackey took the loss and made 12 saves before being replaced by Brian Coppola who made 13 saves. Sugar Land incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
