Texas blows out Euless, 6-0

Texas had a four-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-0 win over Euless.

Texas pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 12 penalty minutes.

Texas was led by Zack Andersen, who tallied one goal and one assist. Andersen scored on the power play 11:36 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Texas earned a power play opportunity when Kyle Dudley was put in the box for tripping. Kyle Galloway provided the assist.

Texas\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Euless power plays. Texas\’ offense rang up 63 shots on Euless\’ net.

Texas additionally got points from Bryan Whelan, who also registered one goal and two assists and Galloway, who also grabbed one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Texas also had goals scored by Victor Ekk, Dakota Davis, and George Hansen, who scored one goal each. More assists for Texas came via Jacob Elrod, who had two and Matt Araujo, Oliver Hay, Hunter Frado, Ryan Dunner, and Noah Klinsky, who contributed one each.

Euless found itself stymied offensively, and got off a mere 14 shots against Texas\’ defense. Euless could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game.

Brandon Perrone made 14 saves for Texas on 14 shots. Texas registered three goals on eight power play opportunities. Mike Severson recorded 57 saves for Euless.
