Sloppy Sunday

Jan 17, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas gave arguably the sloppiest effort of the season and fell to the Sugar Land Imperials by a score of 3-2 on Saturday.

In the first the Brahmas were only able to place two shots on goal and the visitors made them pay.  The top ranked penalty kill in the NA3HL was encroached on courtesy of Jonathan Adnell          at the 12:40 mark.

Bennett Weycker got the second period of play off to an atrocious start with an errant kneeing call that awarded him with a major penalty and game misconduct.  That was the Brahmas third major penalty in just two days, the other two causing Ryan Dunner and Chase Deacon to miss today’s contest. His team was able to strike shorthanded however, thanks to Victor Ekk zipping a wrister past the blocker side of Ryan O’Toole.

Play remained tied for a large portion of the second until Dylan Dix sprung out of the penalty box and set up an odd-man rush for the Imperials that was jammed home by Luca Valenza.

Garrett Culps tied the game up just four and a half minutes into the third period when he cleaned up the scraps in front after a Hunter Frado shot from the point was left for the taking.

Less than two minutes later though, Sugar Land made the Brahmas pay on the power play yet again when RC Randall redirected one past Myers to give his team the lead.

The Imperials would hang on, giving Tyler Myers just his third loss of the season.

Monday morning at 9:30 A.M. the two teams will partake in a rubber match to conclude the weekend.  Admission is free, so come on out and support the Brahmas!
