NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas are home from a weekend in  Blaine, Minnesota for the NA3HL Showcase Tournament. The Brahmas went 1-2 playing against three  first place leaders from different divisions.

Friday the Brahmas beat the North Iowa Bulls, Central Division leaders, in a shoot out with a 3-2 final score. Melter Kroon, the most recent South Star of the Week, earned a hat trick, including the shoot out winning goal. Goalie Tyler Myers had 35 saves allowing goals from Mitch Parsons and David Dolter.

Saturday the Brahmas faced off against the Breezy Point North Stars who were leading the West going in to the showcase. The Brahmas were hot in the 2nd period scoring goals by Dakota Davis, Hunter Bersani and a penalty goal from Kyle Torgerson. They went into the 3rd period leading 3-1. Momentum shifted to the North Stars after that. They scored three in the 3rd and the game winner coming with just ten seconds left to play. Final score was 4-3.

Sunday the toughest match up came from the Metro Jets, who are still undefeated this season. The Brahmas fell 3-0. With  24 shots on goal they were unable to get past Jets goalie Andrew Kormos.

The Brahmas current record is 20-4-0 with 40 points and a three point first place lead in the South Division. Texas has a break for the holidays before hosting the 2nd place Atlanta Capitals the first weekend of the new year. Puck drops at 7:35 pm on January 6th and 7th and 2:05pm on the 8th. All three games will be played at NYTEX Sports Centre.
