Series preview: Brahmas face the RoadRunners in first away games of the season

Nov 6, 2020

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS — The NA3HL Texas Brahmas hit the road for the first time in the 2020-21 regular season today, embarking in the second series against Texas RoadRunners of the year. The Brahmas are 2-0 against the RoadRunners in the regular season so far, scoring 14 goals this past weekend at NYTEX Sports Centre.

“I was very happy with our response this past weekend against the RoadRunners after a disappointing weekend against OKC,” said Head Coach of the Texas Brahmas, Ryan Anderson.  “I was happy to see our group learn from the adversity and get back on track.  The first road trip of the year is always a difficult one. We have talked about the importance of making sure we are ready to play a full 60 on the road. I am excited to see how our first year players handle it.”

While the injury bug has unfortunately bitten a few Brahmas, many of the team’s core head to College Station in hopes of returning with six points and continuing the team’s current two-game winning streak. Forward Tyler Blanchard was named the NA3HL South Division Bauer Star of the Week, after a standout offensive performance against the RoadRunners where he tallied three goals and five assists.

The Brahmas sit at third in the NA3HL South Division Standings behind the Atlanta Capitals and the Oklahoma City Blazers, posting a record of 5-2-0. The squad clinched the top-ten ranking within the league’s teams with their wins over the RoadRunners, tied for fifth place in goal differential with a value of 20.

The puck drops at Spirit Ice Arena tonight and tomorrow at 6:15 p.m. CST, with Sunday’s contest beginning at 1:45 p.m. CST. All three games will be broadcasted live on HockeyTV.com.
