Point Mallard downs Texas, 4-1

Austin Weber had one point to lead Point Mallard to a 4-1 victory over Texas.

The win by Point Mallard clinched the best of three series at 2-0.

Point Mallard\’s offense rang up 41 shots on Texas\’ net.

Point Mallard also got a goal from Josh Hamilton as well. More assists for Point Mallard came via Jake Champaign, who had two and Chandler Brown, Jake Cox, and Matt Goodman, who contributed one each.

Texas was led by Bryan Whelan, who scored the team\’s only goal. Whelan scored on the power play 12:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Texas had gained a power play chance when Drue Amato was whistled for boarding. Ryan Dunner assisted on the tally.

Cooper Seedott rejected 22 shots on goal for Point Mallard. Point Mallard incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Brandon Perrone made 37 saves for Texas on 40 shots. Texas incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
