Players To Watch: Sugar Land

Nov 5, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Tonight begins a crucial three game set for the Texas Brahmas as they’ve completed the trek to Sugar Land in attempt to extend their win streak.

Several players have been red hot during the stretch but here are three individuals in particular to keep an eye on.

BRYAN WHELAN – Since being moved to a line with Mykyta Sheptytsky and Ryan Dunner, the New York native has found his scoring touch again.  The group is expected to be on the ice together again this weekend and head coach Al Rooney is planning on him continuing his next-level production.

GEORGE HANSEN – George is getting it done at both ends of the ice for the Brahmas.  Thanks to his contributions as of late he’s now averaging over a point-per-game regardless of being a defensemen.  His puck moving ability has led him to become an assist machine and he’s getting it done against the opponents top line, a responsibility that Rooney believes he can handle.  So far, he’s right.

OLIVER HAY – New Zealand’s very own has hit his stride since he was paired with Tennessee love on his wings.  Noah Klinsky and Dakota Davis have done an excellent job accompanying Hay’s skill, something that had been ghostly in the early portion of the season.  Prior to the line adjustment things had sunk to the level of being demoted to a healthy scratch during the four game mega weekend.  Thankfully, his play has turned around since.  Look for his upward trend to continue this weekend.

Puck drop is 7:00 Friday and Saturday, followed by a 1:00 start Sunday!
