NA3HL Showcase Preview

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas travel to Blaine, MN this weekend for the 7th Annual NA3HL Showcase Tournament. The tournament is held at the Schwan Super Rink and all 48 NA3HL will be in attendance. Each team will play three regular season games, matched up against according to their rankings as of November 30th. Players will have a chance to impress many junior and college scouts.

The Brahmas match up against the North Iowa Bulls, Breezy Point North Stars and Metro Jets. All are in first place in their divisions.

The first of the three games comes against the Bulls on Friday, December 16th at 10:30 am. The Bulls are at the top of the Central Division posting a 22-3-0 record. The player to look out for in this match up will be forward Marshall Barnes. The Minnesota native has 19 goals and 38 assists this season and sits within the leagues top 10 leading scorers.

The second game comes against the Breezy Point North Stars, the following day at 6:30 pm. Forward Josh Laven is leads the North Stars in scoring as they hold a first place record of 18-6-1 in the West Division.

The final and toughest match up the Brahmas face will be Sunday the 18th at 3:20 pm. The Metro Jets are undefeated this season with a 25-0-0 record in the East and 50 points, the second best in NA3HL. This will be a battle of the defenses as the Jets have the least goals scored against them, only 33. While the Brahmas are right behind with only 34.  Jets goaltender, Andrew Kormos is the only goalie in the league with a better goals against average than Brahmas Tyler Myers. Kormos holds a .92 goals against average and racked up 290 saves. Myers has a 1.64 goals against average with 331 saves.

Texas will be skating without teammate Sylvain Rooney, who is set to have surgery this week on a broken ankle and torn ligaments.
