NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Wednesday evening Texas Brahmas head coach Al Rooney announced that the team has acquired defenseman Sean McAndrews from the Alexandria Blizzard.

McAndrews, a defenseman, stands at 6’2” and weighs 195 lbs.  Originally from Minnetonka, Minnesota, the newest native of Brahmaland appeared in nine games this season with the Blizzard and recorded one point.

In regards to the trade, Coach Rooney stated, “We’re excited to be adding a young, yet experienced player to our blue line.  He’s got great size and the fact that he’s still a ’97 allows us to still balance taking care of our lineup and possibly the future.”

McAndrews just celebrated his 18th birthday yesterday and upon conclusion of this season still holds two years of league eligibility.

In return, the Brahmas send a tender and a sixth round draft selection to the Blizzard.

Last year, McAndrews split time with Alexandria and Helena, playing a combined 22 games.

Sean will wear #2 for the Brahmas and is “expected to step right in and contribute immediately.”
