Kill To Win

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Despite an undisciplined effort the Brahmas pulled out a 2-1 victory over the Sugar Land Imperials on Saturday.

The first minutes of the contest were filled with chances but Ryan Dunner drew first blood when he slammed home a second chance opportunity in front after a two-on-one with Ryan Dunner.  Before the first period closed out, recent Corpus Christi IceRays drop down Jake Garman tied things up with a slick wrister past Perrone.

Before the first came to a close, Dunner was ejected from the game because of a spearing major.

In the second, the Brahmas scrounged together their second rebound goal thanks to Kyle Galloway.  The goal was Galloway’s 21st of the season.  For the second consecutive frame though, the team lost a player due to a game misconduct, this time Chase Deacon for slew-footing.

Sugar Land showed no give despite being down in the third and had several chances to pull themselves back even.  The only goal of the frame came with 0.1 remaining as the Brahmas added an empty netter for good measure.

Backstopping the Brahmas to his 13th victory of the season was Brandon Perrone.  The goaltender stopped 16 of 17 including several highlight reel stops to keep his team tied or ahead.

The two teams will return to battle tomorrow at 5:45 in the afternoon.  Admission is free!
