"J" Show Flies Ducks To Victory

Oct 3, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – For the second consecutive night, the Point Mallard Ducks were able to score first and fly to another victory.

It was the “J” show from the start as Justin Clark hooked up with popular teammates Jake Cox and Josh Hamilton just over six minutes in for what would eventually be the only goal of the first.  In the second, it was Cox’s turn as he made the score 2-0 off of passes from Justin Dunn and Josh Martin.

Around the halfway point of the contest, Mykyta Sheptytsky got the lone Brahmas goal kick started when he drove behind the net for a wraparound that skid out in front and wound up on the tape of Zack Anderson.  Andersen drove it into the back of the cage for his second of the season.  The entire play developed with the extra attacker after Matt Araujo was taken down behind the play.

Unfortunately, that was all it would be for the Texas offense as they just went through the motions in the third and allowed another goal in the process.  Jake Champaign was the Point Mallard goal scorer with Jake Cox and Matt Goodman picking up the assists.

Point Mallard goaltender Josh Martin stopped 30 out of 31 shots en route to his second victory of the season.  The Ducks will now move down the street to take on the Euless Jr. Stars the next two mornings, meanwhile the home team will try to reset and prepare for the Atlanta Capitals tomorrow night and Monday afternoon.
