NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS — The Texas Brahmas continue to climb the ladder of development, as goalie Dolan Gilbert was called up to the Lone Star Brahmas in the North American Hockey League, Head Coach Ryan Anderson announced Friday.

This will be the goalie’s NAHL debut. Gilbert started in the Texas Brahmas first game of the 2020-21 season, tallying a 1-0-0 record and posting a 0.966 save percentage on 29 shots. The South Bend, Ind. native is a product of the Ohio Blue Jackets organization, playing 14 games on the 18U AAA team and recording a .902 save percentage.

“We are extremely happy for Dolan to receive this call up to Lone Star,” said head coach of the Texas Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. “Assistant Coach of the Lone Star Brahmas, Andrew Whiteside, joined me on the bench for our season opener against the Drillers and came away very impressed with Dolan’s performance. This led to Dolan being invited out to practice with Lone Star this week and Coach Wildfong was impressed as well. Dolan in his short time in Brahmaland has proven to have the talent and character it takes to play at the North American League level. The ovation our team gave him yesterday when we announced the call up was one of my favorite moments as a coach”

The Lone Star Brahmas begin the 2020-21 regular season at 7:30 p.m. CDT this evening in a two-game series against the New Mexico IceWolves.
