North Richland Hills, TX
The Ladder of Development was already standing in the NYTEX Sports Centre long before the phrase was coined and the concept was proven. Yet again, the phone was ringing and once again, the answer was a confirmation of readiness. This time, it was the NAHL Corpus Christi IceRays calling for Gabe Potok and Brahma Land is proud to help him ascend.

Head Coach Ryan Anderson was happy to comment on the 6’2″ Left Wing from Lake Orion, MI today from his office overlooking the storied arena nicknamed “the Shoebox” by the devoted fan base of Brahmas supporters. Said Anderson “We are extremely excited and proud of Gabe for earning this call up to Corpus Christi this weekend versus Amarillo. After suffering an injury at the end of summer Gabe attacked his rehab and completely changed his body for the better. He has been a leader in our locker room and on the ice since he arrived.”

Gabe is now the third Texas Brahma to earn NAHL playing time this season, following in the footsteps of Dylan Smith and Ian Erdman. This is yet another example of the NAHL Ladder of Development at work. Potyk spent the season with the NAHL Lone Star Brahmas last year, was later bit by an injury bug, and after rehab, needed to play to earn his way back to the NAHL, the League of Opportunity. Gabe choose the Texas Brahmas and the NA3HL as his pathway back and in a short amount of time earned the call-up. Brahmas Organization President and Owner Frank Trazzera spoke highly of Potyk upon hearing the news. “Gabe is a really good person, and he’s just the kind of young man every team wants leading teammates to the ice. It benefits the entire organization when you have a player like Gabe in the room, and he will do good things for the IceRays now and in the future.”

The Texas Brahmas would also like to thank the Corpus Christi Ice Rays and Coach Nate Weossner for reaching out and providing this opportunity for Gabe.
