NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas put forth a maximum effort on Saturday night and took down the Sugar Land Imperials by a score of 7-0.

Scoring first worked like a charm for the Brahmas on Friday and Saturday they completed that task again thanks to Oliver Hay.  Right off an offensive zone faceoff the young man from New Zealand wristed one high and home to give his team the lead.  The goal was Hay’s 15th of the season and minutes later, Zack Andersen recorded his 15th of the year.  Kyle Galloway attempted to send a pass across the goalmouth but it ricocheted off of a defending Imperial and right to the tape of Andersen.  #28 had the easy duty of sliding it home as Sugar Land netminder Kevin Mackey anticipated the first attempt getting through.

Towards the end of the first period Brahmas forward Bryan Whelan left the game with an injury after being flattened illegally by Trevor Wolf.  However, #10 would return for the second to score yet another power play goal for his side.

In the final frame the Brahmas put it in a new gear, scoring four times.  Trey Greene scored his first goal at NYTEX as a Brahma to make it a 4-0 game with assists coming from Sam Gagnon and Oliver Hay.  That goal came at even strength but the following two would come on the red-hot power play courtesy of Kyle Galloway and Gagnon.  Galloway’s came after a George Hansen shot from the point bounced to #18’s tape for an easy-slam dunk put-back.  Gagnon’s came with assists from Bryan Whelan and Ryan Dunner for the sixth goal of the evening.

The seventh and final goal came from the young man who started the scoring, Oliver Hay.  #11 parked it in front and simply deflected a hard pass from Trey Greene home as he sat back door.  Captain Brock Brown also received an assist.

Backstopping the team’s victory was Brandon Perrone, who made 19 saves.  The shutout is his fifth of the season and currently places him in a tie for third place in the NA3HL in the category.  One of the men he is tied with is partner Tyler Myers.

Sunday at 12:05 is the final matchup between the two sides at NYTEX Sports Centre.  Admission is free and it’s the final home game of the regular season!
