NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas used a season-high in goals to pick up a 15-2 victory over the Sugar Land Imperials on Sunday.

For the second consecutive day Oliver Hay opened the scoring but today he needed just 30 seconds to do so.  The goal was Hay’s 17th of the season and was the first of five in the period for his team.  Ryan Dunner was the next goal scorer for the Brahmas and it would be his first of three in the first period and four on the afternoon.    Brock Brown assisted on all three of #22’s first period goals.  Nick Nitta was the other goal scorer in the starting period, picking up a terrific feed from Victor Ekk in the slot.  After one period of play the shots favored the home team 22-1.

When the teams returned to the ice for the second period the Brahmas came out with even more firepower, scoring six.  Bryan Whelan and Kyle Galloway recorded goals in the first half of the frame and the final four would all come during the duration of a five-minute major power play.  Niklas McCallum was credited with the first during the sequence and Sam Gagnon would earn his first of three as well.  Brock Brown scored back-to-back just 16 seconds apart to conclude the scoring period scoring and giving his team a 11-0 lead.

The Imperials struck twice in the final period of play thanks to leading-scorer Jon Adnell and RC Randall, however the Brahmas continued to roll.  Gagnon completed the hat trick at the 12:39 mark; just seconds after Ryan Dunner added his fourth on the afternoon.  Additionally, Victor Ekk would impede the goal category as well.

After all the scoring and combined 63 penalty minutes were in the past, the final score reflected a victory for the home side.  Six of the team’s 15 goals came on the power play, while Brandon Perrone stopped 15 of 17 to earn his 18th win of the season.

That wraps up the home portion of the regular season for the Brahmas and they’ll next hit the road for a weekend set with Louisiana.  Upon conclusion of that series, information on playoff dates for the team will be announced.
