Early goals doom Euless, falls to Texas, 12-1

Texas opened up a four-goal lead after the first period and did not look back en route to a 12-1 win over Euless.

Texas got the win thanks to a great game by Zack Andersen, who had two goals and one assist. Andersen scored the first of his two goals at 12:04 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Texas. Oliver Hay assisted on the tally. Andersen\’s next tally made the score 6-0 Texas with 12:55 left in the second period. Victor Ekk picked up the assist.

Texas forced Euless\’ goalies to work between the pipes, firing 55 shots and forcing 43 saves. Thomas Bailey made 20 stops and Everett Yasinski made 23. Texas excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Texas surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Texas averages 5.3 goals per game.

Texas additionally got points from Ekk, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points, Kyle Torgerson, who also had one goal and one assist, Hay, who also racked up two goals and one assist, Kyle Galloway, who also tallied one goal and three assists, and Ryan Dunner, who also registered one goal and three assists. Others who scored for Texas included Bryan Whelan, who had two and Dakota Davis and Jason Moore, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Texas were Brock Brown, who had two, George Hansen, who had four, and Sean McAndrews, Jacob Elrod, Niklas McCallum, and Bennett Weycker, who contributed one each.

Euless also got a goal from Kayne Fedor as well.

Tyler Myers made 16 saves for Texas on 17 shots. Texas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Euless ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Euless ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Brandon Wade was ejected from the game.
