NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas blanked the Euless Jr. Stars on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0.

There was no shortage of chances for the Brahmas in the first period but the only puck that wound up in the back of the net came from the tape of Zack Andersen.  Victor Ekk dished a gift to the New York native, who had nearly the entire net to deposit the rubber into.

In the second period the Brahmas fired more than a shot on goal per minute on Stars netminder Thomas Bailey.  Once again though, there was only one that beat him during the frame.  In his return to the team, Nick Nitta was able to place a wrister through traffic and into the back of the net.  Bryan Whelan was credited with the primary assist and in his return to NYTEX, Sam Gagnon picked up the other helper.

The third period was when the Brahmas finally began clicking as Bryan Whelan found his way into the scoring department on the very first shot.  Captain Brock Brown got the only assist on the tally.  A few minutes later the power play got it’s second tally of the day when Ryan Dunner made an impeccable cross-ice pass to Sam Gagnon, who then unleashed a one-timer in to the back of the net.

With two goals already in the frame, Victor Ekk tallied the fifth and final one for his team less than 30 seconds later.  The goal was his 19th of the season and also gave Zack Andersen and Kyle Galloway multi-point games.

Behind it all Tyler Myers picked up his fourth shutout of the season over Euless, making 15 stops.

The final regular season contest between the two sides takes place tomorrow at NYTEX at 2:05.  Admission is free.
