Apr 26, 2023

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX–

The Brahmas are excited to congratulate Brahmas Captain Benjamin Mondou who has announced a commitment to play ACHA Division I hockey for the Oklahoma Sooners.

A leader on the ice and off the ice, Mondou was selected to participate in the NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament 2023 in Cranberry Township, PA in February alongside Fitchburg commit Alternate Captain Michael ImalaAaron Best and Defenseman Alex Cagan; representing the South Division. A native of North Texas, Benjamin Mondou has played all of his junior hockey career within miles of the NYTEX Sports Centre, his home barn of the last four seasons.

Mondou maintained a steady presence on the Texas Brahmas roster beginning in the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 season, appearing in 185 games over four seasons, scoring 184 points wearing purple and black, including 13 points in postseason playoffs competitions.

“The University of Oklahoma just picked up an amazing player with strong leadership skills and an ability to score from anywhere on the ice; good news all around! Happy for the Captain!” remarked Brahmas President Frank Trazzera as the story was breaking in Brahma Land.
