Brock Brown returns for 15-16 Season

Aug 7, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas have announced that forward Brock Brown (97) will be returning to the purple and black for the 2015-16 season. Brown played a variety of roles for the Brahmas last season both as an offensive threat as well as defensive forward including PK minutes.

"Brock fought thru a variety of injuries last season, it was really unfortunate for him at times", said Head Coach Al Rooney. "But he persevered, worked hard and never wavered. It also helps that he comes from a great family who gave him some fantastic support throughout all of it. I expect Brock to take that next step for us this season and slot in as our top line center for us. I think his signing will have a big impact on the Brahmas."

Brown (5'10", 165) spent the offseason back home in Station Camp, TN as well as at a variety of Prospect and tryout camps. "I was in attendance at several of them and I believe he is right about there to take that step (into the NAHL), but just needs to be healthy and play regularly this season", added Rooney. "Last season, he finally got to full strength and he finished strong for us, scoring 10 points in his final 5 games. He also served as one of our top penalty killers as well. He a great kid, a versatile player, tenacious and skilled. This is a huge signing for our team and hopefully he will earn his way to the next level sooner rather than later." Brown finished the season with 17 points after appearing in only 27 games, adding 2 points in 4 playoff games as well. But with him having a healthy offseason to prepare for the coming season, bigger and better things are expected from Brown this season. "He will be a leader for us this year, no doubt. Last year was a big step for him, and while it had a few downs to go with the ups, I see a bright future ahead for him this season and beyond", said Rooney.

The Brahmas now have only a week remaining before players report for Main Camp and Training Camp immediately after, starting on Friday August 14th. The NA3HL season gets underway in September where the Brahmas will kick off their second season in the NA3HL as they begin their quest to win a South Division title as well as a berth at the Silver Cup Championships next March/April.
