Brahmas Roster Starting To Take Shape

Jul 29, 2014

With the conclusion of most NAHL team’s main camps recently, the Texas Brahmas have begun to solidify their roster additions for the upcoming 2014-15 season. This season will be the Brahmas inaugural campaign as a member of the NA3HL, as well as Head Coach Al Rooney’s first behind the bench for the organization. Coach Rooney has sought to put together a healthy mix of returning players from last year’s WSHL squad, as well as plenty of new blood in the hopes of not only finding success in the NA3HL, but also to serve as a feeder team for the Lone Star Brahmas in the NAHL. “It’s always important to have returning players to help lead the way each season and lend a veteran presence to the locker room as well as on the ice”, Rooney said. “It’s equally important to always be looking to bring in younger talent, hungry and eager to make a difference for a team. I like what I have seen thus far this summer from our tendered players and draft picks as well as getting to know the returning players. I expect us to compete with anyone in the league and fight for a South Division title right away.” A good portion of the Brahmas NA3 players participated in the NAHL Main Camp in Detroit recently and Rooney was pleased with their performance. Roster signings will be announced in the coming days and weeks ahead. Both teams will play all of their home games out of NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, with the Texas Brahmas playing a 48 game schedule in the ‘South Division’ of the NA3HL.
