The Next Generation
We have seen plenty of brother combos over the years suit up for the Brahmas. In the Central Hockey League, we had the Davis brothers (Aaron and Adam) and the Rouleau brothers (Pete and Ross). We also had the Foddrill brothers (Craig and Kyle) who played for the Brahmas just at different times. The North American Hockey League has seen the Trazzera brothers on the ice together (Joe and Frank). The NA3HL Texas Brahmas have seen the Mara brothers (Parker and Mason). Now we are starting to see the next generation of talent rise yet again.
This season we have seen a couple players whose dads played right here in the NYTEX Sports Centre before them, albeit was called the Blue Line Ice Complex back in those days. Defenseman Cameron Deitsch on your Texas Brahmas is the son of Marc Deitsch. Marc played for the NAHL Texas Tornado when they were predecessor to the current NYTEX home team. Marc’s brother (Cameron’s Uncle) Jason Deitsch played not only for the Tornado, but then later for the Central Hockey League’s Texas Brahmas. Jason played a huge role in the Brahmas first championship title in 2009. A title that was won at NYTEX in front of the largest crowd the NYTEX Sports Centre has ever had.
Jackson Foddrill has played this season with the Texas Brahmas as well. His father Craig also played for the Tornado and then eventually finishing his career with the Fort Worth Brahmas. Jackson’s Uncle (Kyle) followed in his brother’s footsteps playing for the Tornado and then Fort Worth Brahmas.
So if you a familiar nameplate out on the ice, chances are you have been a fan for a long time (which we appreciate), and you are witnessing the next crop of talent.
The Brahmas next home game at NYTEX is November 24th when they take on the Austin Ice Bats.
