NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – It was a stalemate for a large portion of the night, however once the Atlanta Capitals got the ball rolling, their scoring came in bunches.

The first two periods belonged to Brandon Perrone who had 24 saves through 40 minutes but was equally matched down at the other end of the ice by Alexandr Zendejas, who wasn’t tested nearly as much but was still able to stop all 9 shots that were sent his way.  Both teams did a wonderful job of blocking the lanes and laying the body in front of shots, which also was a large reasoning as to why the game remained scoreless.

Then, finally five minutes into the third Alex Johanson was sprung by defenseman Colin O’Connor, who made a long stretch pass from his own zone that wound up bouncing off of the dasher in front of his team’s bench and behind the two Brahmas defenders.  Johanson shimmy-shaked Perrone and beat him five-hole to get the scoring underway.

Just 16 seconds later, the puck was loose down in the Texas zone and was eventually slammed home by Philip Pugliese after the Brahma defenders were unable to clear.

A few minutes after that, Artus Laukaitis tied his team’s lead in goals as he put home his fifth of the year against a dejected hosting team.

The final score was 3-0.

Texas now moves to 0-2-1 on the weekend and 2-2-1 overall.  The team will conclude it’s super-weekend tomorrow afternoon against the very same opponent at 2:05 P.M. here at NYTEX.  Admission is free.
