Texas falls to Topeka in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Topeka Capitals pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Texas Jr. Brahmas on a clutch goal by Kyle Rimbach.

Topeka came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Capitals was down 2-0 after a power play goal by Texas\’ Sam Gagnon at 12:23 in the first period. Topeka knotted things up at 2-2 on a goal by Tre Kautzman at 16:53 in the second period.

Rimbach had a great game for the Capitals, netting two goals. Rimbach scored at 9:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Texas and again while 3:50 into the fourth to make the score 3-2 Topeka.

Topeka\’s offense rang up 34 shots on the Jr. Brahmas\’ net.

Other players who recorded assists for Topeka were Alex Sauer, Hank Roers, Trey Opack, and Dylan Wattles, who each chipped in one.

Texas\’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on four Topeka power plays.

More assists for Texas came via Nick Nitta, Mykyta Sheptytsky, Kurt Thiele, and Ryan Dunner, who contributed one each.

Jacob Pelton made 25 saves for the Capitals on 27 shots. Topeka incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Jr. Brahmas\’ Joe Hacker stopped 31 shots out of the 34 that he faced. Texas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
