Texas downs Euless, 6-3

Niklas McCallum registered one point to lead Texas to a 6-3 victory over Euless.

In a losing effort, Euless was led by Benjamin Kraus, who racked up two goals. Kraus scored the first of his two goals short handed at 9:33 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Euless. Euless found itself down a man on Ian Linna\’s slashing. Triston Wilson provided the assist. Kraus\’ next tally short handed made the score 4-3 Texas with 6:47 left in the third period. A high sticking call on Kyle Dudley put Euless on the penalty kill. Wilson picked up the assist.

Texas forced Euless goalie Thomas Bailey to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots.

Texas also got points from Oliver Hay, who also had one goal and one assist. Texas also had goals scored by Trey Greene, who had two and Bryan Whelan and Ryan Dunner, who each put in one. More assists for Texas came via Hunter Frado, Sam Gagnon, Garrett Culps, and Bennett Weycker, who each chipped in one and Jacob Elrod and Brock Brown, who contributed two each.

Euless also got a goal from Brandon Wade as well. In addition, Euless received assists from Kayne Fedor and Axel Olson, who each chipped in one.

Brandon Perrone rejected 17 shots on goal for Texas. Texas ended with no penalties and went 1-for-8 on the power play. Euless\’ Bailey stopped 34 shots out of the 39 that he faced. Euless incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
