Sykes' big night helped the Brahmas crush the Spirit 9-1

Sam Sykes had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the Texas Brahmas crushed the College Station Spirit 9-1 in a home game at Spirit Ice Arena in Texas. Also, Carson Murison came up big, stopping 35 of 36 shots throughout the game. The Texas Brahmas took the lead before the halfway point in the first on a goal from Fuma Kasai and never looked back.

Fuma Kasai delivered for his team with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Hunter Bersani had no trouble finding the scoresheet, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first, Tiedemann opened the scoring for the Brahmas with a goal at 13:45 with helpers from his linemates, Casto and Tobey. Kasai quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 14:14 with a helper from Bersani.

During the second period, Bersani put in a goal at 0:32 with assists from his linemates, Sykes and Cote. Ripley netted a goal at 9:23 with an assist from his teammate Kasai. Bombardir quickly followed with a goal at 11:12 with helpers from Tobey and Sykes. Sykes scored a goal at 13:19 with assists from his linemates, Weycker and Cote. Sykes put in a goal at 18:50 with helpers from Bombardir and Shimamoto.

In the third period, Byrd finally put the Spirit on the board with a goal at 8:22 with assists from Elliott and Dacey. Kasai answered for Texas with a goal at 10:48 with helpers from his linemates, Shimamoto and Weycker. Gray deposited a goal at 14:38 with an assist from defenseman Holland.

The Brahmas’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Murison’s big night as he stopped 35 of the 36 shots he faced. Murison’s counterpart, Parker, also had a big night, managing to stop 84 of 93, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Texas Brahmas’ record to (8-1-0-0).
