Spooky Seven

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Saturday night the Texas Brahmas etched their way into franchise history with their seventh consecutive win, a 5-0 shutout over the Euless Jr. Stars.

Bryan Whelan opened the trick-or-treating thanks to his defensive ghouls Matt Araujo and Niklas McCallum just 3:50 into the game.  Minutes later, Victor Ekk decided to take the party upstairs, knocking the water bottle off of Thomas Bailey’s net, advancing the score to 2-0.

In the second, the dish-master himself George Hansen was gifted a wonderful treat from fellow New Yorker Araujo cross-ice, which he then slid short side.  Towards the end of the frame, the captain Ryan Dunner helped McCallum pick up his second assist of the evening when he was able to toe-drag around his defender and beat the Euless netminders.

During the second, a scary moment occurred when Stars defenseman Nick Snyder collided into both Dakota Davis and Tyler Myers’ net post.  Snyder remained down on the ice for several minutes and needed assistance leaving.

When play finally resumed, there was only one more tally the rest of the night.  Dunner tacked on another to make things 5-0 and fully solidify a Brahmas win.

In net, Tyler Myers made 20 saves on the way to his second NA3HL shutout.  The Colorado native is responsible for both wins this weekend.

The team will now take it’s hot streak to Sugar Land, where they will take on the Imperials next weekend for a three game set.  Their next home game is Friday, November 27th at NYTEX.
