Six En Route To Six

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas offense came to play on Friday night as the team etched it’s way into history with a 6-2 win over the Euless Jr. Stars.

Recording eight shots before the Jr. Stars could even muster one, it was a nifty spin play from Ryan Dunner that got the first goal kick-started.   After spinning away from a defender in his own zone, the captain hit linemate Mykyta Sheptytsky who sprung forward with speed, outlasted his defender and hit Bryan Whelan with a feed that was slammed home.

Just over a minute later Dakota Davis made the score 2-0 as he jammed home his own second effort on the power play.  Before the first period would close however, Triston Wilson, the former Brahma himself tallied his first of two on the evening.

To open the second was Wilson’s additional tally, which led to Al Rooney calling an early timeout.  That however, would prove to be a turning point for the team though as that would be the final goal for the Stars on the evening.

The third Brahmas goal came when Victor Ekk was able to slide a puck in the slot to Kyle Galloway who placed it into the back of the cage.  Galloway has now recorded a goal in five straight games.  With just over a minute left in the second, Sheptytsky joined the scoring party, thanks to helpers from Bryan Whelan and Kyle Galloway.

In the final frame of the evening, Oliver Hay continued his hot streak, recording his fourth goal in the last five games.  Lastly, the veteran Ryan Dunner would close things out with the sixth goal of the evening late in the frame.  This would suit Ryan alongside Hay with four goals in five contests.

In net, Tyler Myers picked up the win for the Brahmas making 19 saves on 21 shots.

This is the Brahmas sixth straight win, matching a record they tied to end last season.

The two teams will battle again tomorrow night at NYTEX Sports Centre, beginning at 7:35.  Admission is free to all fans!
