Reynolds, Texas blank West Michigan, 3-0

Quinton Reynolds recorded a shutout against the West Michigan Wolves as the Texas Jr. Brahmas picked up a 3-0 win.

Texas was paced by James Bacon, who racked up one goal. Bacon scored 4:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Texas. Conor Durkin assisted on the tally.

The Jr. Brahmas forced Wolves\’ netminders to work without much rest, totaling 31 shots and forcing 28 saves. Kyler Patenaude made 10 stops and Chase Stanford made 18. Texas stifled West Michigan\’s power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Jr. Brahmas\’ defense was surprisingly good. Texas averages 3.0 goals allowed per game. Team\’s forwards weren\’t the only contributers offensively, and the team\’s defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Texas additionally got points from Durkin, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Texas also got a goal from Nick Nitta as well. In addition, Texas received assists from Paolo DiGenova, Zach McPherson, Kurt Thiele, Ryan Dunner, and Sam Gagnon, who contributed one each.

The Wolves were held below their usual level of production. West Michigan averages 3.1 goals per game.
