Perrone is Sizable Addition in Net for Brahmas

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas have signed ‘Tendered’ goaltender Brandon Perrone (98) to an NA3HL contract for the coming 2015-16 season. Perrone, a veteran junior goalie, will be attending two NAHL Main Camps later this month, and if he doesn’t make the final roster with either of them, he will then land into place in a top role with the Texas Brahmas team.

Perrone (5’8”, 160) is coming off a spectacular season last season playing for the Long Island Royals in the MET League, one which saw him earn the “Goaltender of the Year” award at the end of season banquet after sporting a 22-7-1 record to go along with a 2.33gaa and a .928 save percentage. “Brandon showcased himself to our organization at our pre-draft camp in Chicago and he was outstanding”, said Head Coach Al Rooney. “You could tell that this is a player who prepares himself properly, handles himself well both on and off the ice, and can be a real difference maker at our level. And quite frankly, I don’t think it’s a matter of ‘if’ he makes it to the NAHL, it’s more a question of when. He is still young being only a 98,he still has some growing and developing yet to do in his game, but with that said, he doesn’t have real far to go.” In the meantime, in upcoming back to back weeks, Perrone will be attending the Main Camps of Wichita Falls and the Lone Star Brahmas in the NAHL with the chance to earn a roster spot right away. “He is in a win-win situation right now as far as I’m concerned. He can either find himself with one of those teams by the end of the month, or have gained some valuable experience and gotten a better sense of where he needs to get to in order to be there”, added Rooney. “And if he ends up falling into our lap, he will have every chance to be a leader with this team and form a real dynamic goaltending duo with (previously signed) Tyler Myers. That would be an outstanding couple of goalies for our team to be able to rely on from night to night.”

With the signing of Perrone, it brings the Brahmas roster to 10 players for the coming NA3 season. Rooney added that several more player announcements will be coming this week as this exciting offseason continues for the Brahmas. Also expect several more players added after completion of the Brahmas NAHL Main Camp when it’s held in Detroit from July 23rd to the 26th. The NA3HL Training Camp will kick off in Mid-August as the Brahmas prepare for the NA3HLseason in their quest for the Silver Cup Championship.
