Nashville downs Texas, 5-1

Nick Mammel registered one point to lead the Nashville Jr. Predators to a 5-1 victory over the Texas Jr. Brahmas.

Nashville forced Texas goalie Joe Hacker to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Nashville also had goals scored by Trent Kulczyk, who had two and Noah Keener and Matiss Gelazis, who each put in one. In addition, Nashville received assists from Jacob Lainesse, who had two and Ben Falk, Nickolas Tandeski, Keegan Haines, Kyle Van Wyk, Dominic Costello, Colton Anderson, and Spencer Marchand, who contributed one each.

The Jr. Brahmas managed to stay out of the box better than usual, totaling one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Texas finished below its season average of 14.0 penalty minutes per game.

The Jr. Brahmas were led by Chase Deacon, who scored the team\’s only goal. Deacon scored 10:01 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jon Grimm picked up the assist.

Justin Ball recorded 14 saves for the Jr. Predators. Nashville incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Hacker rejected 34 shots on goal for Texas. The Jr. Brahmas registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
