Huge game by Tellstrom boosts Metro over Texas, 7-0

Metro\’s Mathias Tellstrom had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing three assists in his team\’s 7-0 win over Texas.

Tellstrom beat Tyler Myers with a shot 21 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Metro. Michael Tratar picked up the assist. Tellstrom dished an assist on David Chavis\’s goal that made the score 2-0 Metro at 2:43 into the first period. He then added assists on Kevin Shand\’s goal at 15:07 into the first and on Dylan Naumovski\’s goal at 5:29 into the second.

Metro forced Texas\’ goalies to work between the pipes, racking up 43 shots and forcing 36 saves. Myers made 22 stops and Brandon Perrone made 14. The defensemen of Metro were also effective in Texas\’ zone, and came away with two goals.

Metro additionally got points from Shand, who also tallied two goals and three assists to lead the team in points. Metro also had goals scored by Jacob Drinkard and Devin Kelly, who scored one goal each. In addition, Metro received assists from Marc Schwartz, who had two and Jacob Gleason, Robert Flannery, Matt Dempsey, and Graham Day, who each chipped in one.

Austin Kane made five saves before being replaced by Kameron Limburg, who took the win and made 13 saves. Metro avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of zero power plays. Texas ended with no penalties and went 0-for-0 on the power play.
