Hansen Named Affiliate Player for Lone Star

Dec 4, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The good news just keeps on surrounding the Texas Jr. Brahamas organization.

Last week Mykyta Sheptytsky was called up to the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League, earlier this week Ryan Dunner and Brandon Perrone were announced as the top stars of the NA3HL South Division, and it’s now official that George Hansen will be continuing his hockey career with the big Brahmas as well.

Lone Star has inked the versatile ’97 to become it’s newest affiliate player, which means that when Hansen takes the step from the NA3HL up to the NAHL, his right are owned exclusively by the Brahmas.

“He has done a fantastic job of providing offense from the blue line while simultaneously serving as a shut down defenseman against our opponents top unit,” said his current head coach Al Rooney.

Hansen has ranked amongst the top of the league when it comes to scoring by defensemen all season long.  He currently sits in second in points, assists, and power play assists.

What makes him such an appealing presence though is that he’s not only a gifted defenseman; he’s also a very skilled forward.  While making several practice appearances with the Dan Wildfong’s team this season, George has been spotted up front with the forward lines, working on entirely completing his game.

“He can play an assortment of ways – beating you either with skill or physicality.  I think his game can and will translate to the next level,” further remarked Rooney.

Be sure to catch Hansen in action when the NA3HL Brahmas return to NYTEX Sports Centre on January 1st, 2016 to begin a three game series against the Louisiana Drillers!
