Five In A Row

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas entered the Dr. Pepper Star Center this past weekend well rested as they had several days off after their sweep in Sugar Land.

Fresh legs combined with the team’s skill were on display Friday night as the team jumped out of the gate with a 2-0 lead in the first period.  Oliver Hay was the first goal scorer and added an assist on the second, two of his three points on the night.

The Brahmas would continue their two goals per period streak in the second and third period bringing their total offense to six goals on the evening.  Joining Hay in the two point club were defensemen Matt Araujo and George Hansen, as well as Dakota Davis.

Former Texas Brahma Triston Wilson was the lone goal scorer for the Euless Stars in the series opener.

In net, Brandon Perrone stopped 15 of 16 to pick up the win.

The series opener ultimately belonged to the Brahmas, 6-1.

Saturday night was a different story however, as the Stars appeared to be more active.

Kyle Galloway recorded his team-high 10th goal of the season in the first frame, further establishing his finishing presence.  There are six Brahmas tied at four goals, which is the next closest to the Georgia native.

Galloway’s goal was just one of two on the evening as Russian sensation Victor Ekk was credited with the other.  Both goals Saturday came on the power play.

Saturday's final was 2-0.

Brandon Perrone got the nod again in the finale and this time was perfect, stopping all 16.  Perrone now stands at 4th in the league with a 1.57 GAA and 8th in Save Percentage at .928.

The team is now on a five game win streak and will look to improve that this upcoming weekend as they play host to Euless.  Both games are slated to start at 7:35.
