Brahmas Trade With Rochester Ice Hawks

Jun 10, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas have acquired a 2015 tender from the Rochester Ice Hawks in exchange for a 2016 tender.

"This trade allowed us to target a player we wanted to ensure we secured the rights to prior to the draft. Rochester just joined the league and had a small window of time to use their tenders, so instead, we traded away a 2016 tender for a current one. It benefits both teams and it was an easy decision to make when the opportunity presented itself," head coach Al Rooney said.

Prior to this trade, the Brahmas had used all nine of its tenders for the coming season. The trade with Rochester gives Texas the opportunity to sign another player before the NA3HL Draft and the Brahmas have 12 picks available in the eight round draft.

"This will have a slight ripple effect on how we approach the draft now that we can secure a player prior to the draft," Rooney responded.

Expect a player announcement coming soon, as Rooney had a player in mind to use the tender on when he made the trade.
