Brahmas Split Series With Jr. Stars

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas hosted cross town division rivals, Euless Jr. Stars, this past weekend. They went 1-1 losing the first game 5-2 and winning the second 4-0.

Game one was played Friday night at NYTEX Sports Centre. Brahmas goalie Tyler Myers allowed 4 shots through the first and second before Anthony D’Aloisio relieved him at the start of the third period. Stars goal came from William Rooney, Thomas Delany, Kayne Fedor and Riley Jenson. D’Aloisio allowed one goal in the third from William Rooney. Myers ended up with 12 saves and D’Aloisio with three.

Texas shooter, Hunter Byers, scored in the first and James Boisvert in the third. Both goals came against Stars net minder, Nick Hart, who finished the game with 29 saves.

There were penalty shots taken in the second period from both sides. Both if which, were unsuccessful.

 

Game two was Saturday night, also at NYTEX.

Brahmas goalie, Anthony D’Aloisio brought Texas a shutout with 23 saves.

Texas Forward, point leader and goals leader led the way to victory with a hat trick. Dakota Davis sealed the deal with the Brahmas fourth goal with less than two minutes to go in the game. Texas offense matched up against Stars same goalie, Nick Hart, with more success than the night before. Hart did have 29 saves.

With the Atlanta Capitals losing two games in a row, the Brahmas have gained a little ground in their quest to regain first place. They are now only one point behind Atlanta. Texas current record is 25-8-0. Next series will be home against the Louisiana Driller for a three game face off this weekend. Meanwhile, the Capitals only have two games this weekend matching up against the Euless Jr. Stars. Is this the weekend the Brahmas take back the lead?
