Brahmas Sign Some Offensive Punch

Aug 21, 2014

The Texas Brahmas of the NA3HL are pleased to announce 2 additional signings for the 2014-15 season, with a couple of forwards coming on board to add some offensive sizzle to the lineup. Anthony Koslow (94) and Jon Grimm (96) are expected to help make some noise for the Brahmas this season on the scoresheet. Koslow is a Long Island, NY native who was the Brahmas 7th Rd draft pick. He was brought to Rooney’s attention thru his most trusted scout, Jack Greig, who lives on Long Island and coaches as well as runs hockey schools. “Jack and I have known each other for years, playing Junior hockey together, as well as pro hockey. He couldn’t say enough positive things about him and his point production speaks for itself”, said Rooney. “He’s a real dynamic offensive threat and we expect him to see a lot of time on special teams for us as well. He scored over 50pts last year in 40 games, plays physical, and will add a great veteran presence to our lineup. What more could I ask for really, and his demeanor in how he has handled himself this offseason speaks volumes about his character, so I really feel like we hit a home run with this signing.” Grimm, from Indiana, also was discovered thru a Brahmas coaching connection as well. “Jon appeared at our NAHL Open tryout and was brought to my attention via Steve Jeffers, our Midget Coach, who has previously worked with him. So I kept a close eye on him and for his age and experience, he played quite well and is definitely an intriguing pickup for us upfront. I think he’s capable of giving us offensive production while staying honest to the defensive responsibility that is needed for this level of hockey”, Rooney said. “I think he will be the type of player that can really blossom in the right environment and system, he’s a quiet kid who goes about playing his game without a lot of fanfare, and does a steady job, and that’s not something that can be undervalued by any means.” Things are starting to gain speed with the opening of training camp just a week away on the 23rd of August. The Brahmas will be playing all of their home games in the ‘South Division’ of the NA3HL out of NYTEX Sports Centre with the season opener just over a month away on September 12th.
