Brahmas Sign 2015 Draft Pick Triston Wilson

Jul 29, 2015

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Texas Brahmas have announced that forward Triston Wilson (96) has signed to play for the 2015-16 Season. Wilson, from Midlothian, TX is expected to further solidify an imposing and offensively gifted group of forwards already assembled by Head Coach Al Rooney.

“I was able to not only see him play this past season while with the U18 Stars, but also have had the opportunity to work with him this offseason during some skills sessions our organization has held for top area players”, said Rooney. “He’s a gamer and will bring a nice physical element to the lineup that you can never have enough of. He’s a tireless worker who goes to the dirty areas of the ice regularly and he will be a great addition to our PK unit as well I believe.”

Wilson (6’0”,185), a 7th round draft pick of the Brahmas in this summer’s NA3HL Draft, scored 6 times last year in 24 games, adding 2 assists for 8 points on the season in the T1EHL. Expectations are that he will add to that total this season, especially after a good performance at the Brahmas NAHL Main Camp where he notched 2 goals and 2 assists in 4 games. “I thought he really raised his play a notch up in Detroit around tougher competition, so that was exciting to see both for Triston as well as our team”, added Rooney. “It’s always great when you can add local players to the mix and help develop area players to get to the next level of hockey. That essentially is what it’s all about for us.”

There are now 16 players signed to play for the Brahmas for the coming NA3HL season. More additions are expected to be announced between now and the onset of training camp when players report on the 14th of August. The final roster will be announced over the final 2 weeks of August as the Brahmas season then kicks off in September as they begin their quest for the NA3HL Silver Cup Championship.
