Brahmas Roll To Sweep

Jan 3, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Six different goal scorers combined to help the Brahmas coast to a 6-0 lead over Louisiana on Sunday.

Jacob Elrod got the scoring going early and on the power play, which is necessity for a team who has struggled in that aspect.  Before the first period came to a close the hottest line in Dunner-Galloway-Whelan connected for Whelan’s 18th of the season to make things 2-0.

In the second Ryan Dunner recorded his 54th point of the season with a goal from Hunter Frado and Brock Brown.  Minutes later Brown scored a highlight reel goal when he picked up the puck in the zone, went full speed behind the net, slammed on the breaks and came back to the near side for a wraparound.

During the third Sean McAndrews scored his first career NA3HL goal in his 47th game in the league, making the game 5-0.   Then, to close out the scoring Garrett Culps capitalized off of a turnover and beat Sean Angle five-hole to wrap up the scoring at six.

Behind it all Brandon Perrone recorded his 12th win of the season and fourth shutout.

The team now has next weekend off but will then return to NYTEX Sports Centre the following for a three game home stretch against the Sugar Land Imperials.
