Brahmas Make Pair of Trades

Jan 22, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Brahmas Head Coach Al Rooney announced on Friday that the team has made two trades.

First, the organization has parted ways with Chase Deacon and Jason Moore and they’ll both now be joining the Euless Jr. Stars.

Deacon, one of just three returners from last season, compiled 12 points in 27 games with the team this season.  Prior to the trade, Deacon had been suspended by the league as a result of his slew-footing game misconduct last Saturday against Sugar Land.  He’ll have to serve the remainder of the suspension with his new team before returning to game action.

Moore heads to Euless after joining the Brahmas in December courtesy of the Dallas Snipers (WSHL).  The Odessa native had just two points in 11 games, both coming against his new team.

In return, the Brahmas received two draft picks.

“We have some other moves on the horizon and it allows us to focus on the future and recoup some draft picks, a crucial avenue which we’ve lost in other trades,” Rooney said.

Additionally, the coach announced that the team has acquired forward Trey Greene (’96) from Alexandria.  Greene added seven points in 22 contests with the Blizzard and comes over in the midst of a three game hot streak.

For compensation, the Brahmas send cash back the other way.

“This is a no-brainer for us, it’s a chance for us to inject some fresh blood into the locker room without losing any assets.  We’ve felt the loss of Dakota Davis along the boards and this gives us a chance to add a winger who we think will certainly fit our style of play.  We’re very excited to have him.”

Greene’s NYTEX Sports Centre debut will be on February 27th against the Euless Jr. Stars!
