Brahmas Keep on Winning

LAFAYETTE, LA – The Texas Jr. Brahmas swept the Louisiana Drillers in a two-game road trip series this past weekend. The Brahmas came out strong with an overwhelming differential in shots on goal. Texas had 96 total shot on goal and held the Drillers to only 17 between the two games.

Texas won the first game 3-0. Gabe Rankin scored two goals and Kyle Torgerson was credited with a third. Goaltender Tyler Myers held the Drillers off between the posts. Rankin was named first star of the game and Zak Albers the second star after finishing with an assist and a plus-2 rating.

Game two’s win was 3-2 with goals from Vincent Dekumbis, Kyle Torgerson and Andrew Garcia. Samuel Solomon stopped eight out of ten in net. Hunter Bersani was name first star with two assists in Sunday’s game and three total for the weekend.

Other Brahmas racking up assets were Jacob Peterson, Bennett Wicker and Albers each with two over the weekend.

With these wins the Brahmas advanced to 7-1-0 and are gearing up to face College Station Spirit at home this weekend. The puck drops Friday night at 7:35 pm and Sunday afternoon at 2:05 pm.
