Brahmas Complete Season Sweep Of Euless

Feb 28, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – The Brahmas started what they finished on Sunday, beating the Euless Jr. Stars for the 12th time this season, 5-1.

Ryan Dunner opened the scoring with his 29th of the season after receiving a feed in front from Bryan Whelan.

The second period was a more explosive one for the Brahmas, beginning with Brock Brown earning a power-play deflection goal.  Nick Nitta rifled the original shot from the point, earning his first of three assists on the day.  Just 23 seconds later Zack Andersen gave a sweet feed over to Victor Ekk who had no problem depositing the puck into the empty net.  Later in the second, Andersen got one of his own after sending the puck towards the front of the net and it ricocheted off of a defender’s skate and in.

Bryan Whelan put the icing on the cake with the fifth and final Brahma goal of the day in the third.  #10’s tally came after Dunner went cross-ice to the New York native for yet another easy tap-in goal.

Ex-Brahma Tristion Wilson would score the only goal of the day for the Stars, when similar to Andersen’s goal, the puck was thrown towards the front of the net, hitting a defender and going in.

Brandon Perrone stopped all other 19 shots sent his way, earning his 16th win of the season.

Texas now prepares for a three game set at home next weekend against the Sugar Land Imperials.  All three are at NYTEX Sports Centre and are free of admission charge.
