Brahma Alum Hansen Joins NAHL Team

Oct 13, 2016

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX – Former Texas Brahma, George Hansen, has been called up to the NAHL after only ten games in to the 2016-17 season.

After deciding to play closer to his hometown, Patchogue, NY, Hansen was traded to the Metro Jets over the summer.  As a Brahma last season, he played in 53 games scoring seven goals and 42 assists.  He finished the regular season with an impressive +41 rating.

In his ten games as a Jet, he has five assists and will be replacing a Knights defenseman who was called up to the USHL. 19-year-old Hansen is now headed to the NAHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

Hansen is excited for the change of scenery and knows that, “to stay in the NAHL, [he] just has to play a simple game and move the puck and not turn the puck over trying to do the extra moves.” His coaches in New York have taught him that simplicity is sometimes the quickest way to success and referred him when the Knights were looking to add to their roster.

Your next chance to watch Hansen on FastHockey is Wednesday, October 19 at 11:30 am against New Jersey Titans. Congratulations to our Texas Brahma alumnus on the next chapter in his hockey career.
